The Washington Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics has been awarded a $15,000 quality improvement grant from the AAP to help six clinics in Washington State improve workflow and try interventions to increase their rate of HPV vaccine series completion of 11 and 12 years olds by 10% in 6 months. In alignment with the clinical goals of the Pediatric Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative, the improvements these clinics make will influence their performance on statewide pediatric measures. You can see the Health Care Authority’s common measure set adopted in 2016 here.
We have produced an information card for use with 11 and 12 year olds, to use as a recall reminder postcard or appointment card. The handout is free for any one to print in English, Russian, and Spanish.
There are national efforts to improve the rates of HPV vaccination. Below are some that we have found helpful.
